We are very pleased to announce that we have unveiled phase one of our project to make our system fully compatible the Android platform, using the Chrome browser, on your tablet or other mobile device. Phase one marks the first time that our live video chat rooms are available, using the Chrome browser, which has become the default on all new Android devices!
As of this release we currently support the open room interface (with tipping) as well as Group and Party chat experiences. All other forms of live shows (private, multi-user, etc.) are not yet available, but we expect to introduce support for them in early January 2013.
Not all rooms will be compatible with Android devices; when browsing the site you will notice a small mobile icon at the top left of the sample image (like on the homepage) if you are using a recognized device. Only rooms where the performer is broadcasting using our newest software will be available due to the audio and video encoding requirements.
We expect that performer adoption will grow considerably over the coming months giving you the choice of enjoying a chat on your desktop, laptop, tablet or other mobile device!
Lastly, support for the Android platform is best on a tablet device. Phone and other small screen devices work, but the experience is far from optimal right now (we have plans to improve the user-interface on these smaller screens).
